Trends: Newest Design Ideas for Natural Stone in 2019-2020

by admin in Marble Insights

After the first half of 2019 is gone, it is time to evaluate the marble trends this first half of the year year and see what new styles and trends of decoration we might witness in 2020. When talking about natural stones, we certainly cannot escape the “naturalness” of these stones. Even the top trends today emphasize nature and the connection back to the natural world of marble and granite.

The trend of timeless natural stone to this day is to show the innocent beauty of nature without much tampering, such as the installation of Carrara marble floors in this modern home.

Here are some of the top trends in combining natural stones into today’s decorations:

Marble Wall in the Bathroom

The bathroom is a room that should have its own drama. That is why five-star hotels and luxury buildings really highlight their bathrooms with marble and granite natural stone. Likewise with private houses; be it a bathroom for the main bedroom or a guest room, a water motif made of marble can add a luxurious and natural texture and taste.

Wall in the Bedroom

The kitchen and bathroom may be the space that are most common to be highlighted with natural stone, but many designers and architects will advise us to spread the charm of natural stone to others. One interesting place is the bedroom. The natural stone walls in the bedroom can convey a relaxed atmosphere and create the perfect place to rest and restore energy after a busy day. And natural stone is so flexible that it can work beautifully in any decorating style, from traditional to modern.

Eternal Colours: Black and white

Black and white is a mixture of colors that can look both classic and modern. Wherever we are, we will certainly continue to see these 2 color combinations. This combination of black and white is timeless, which when combined will add depth to any room. The Carrara marble wall pattern, combined with black granite, will add a contrasting feel that feels familiar and friendly. Outside of marble and granite, we can also often see shades of black and white quartz and lime mixed together.

Natural Stone as Art

Not only cover the floor, wall, or table, natural stones are also often used to make artistic ornaments. For example, onyx can transform the most ordinary space into a magic space. Add LED lighting and watch the colors shine and dance on the surface! Sheets that match the book can create interesting focal points and even the simplest natural stones can create areas of depth and interest in any space.

Open Bathroom

Open kitchens have indeed become a trend for some time, but the new trend that we are now seeing a lot is open bathrooms. The bathroom wall is traded with a sliding privacy panel. The result is turning the bathroom into a large, water-resistant space. Natural stone slabs and tiles – and very slim Neoliths – move outside the shower area and now cover the entire bathroom. This has been a popular trend in Europe for decades, and the rest of the world is catching up.
